AI-powered Copy - Generating title and description for ad using AI

The Problem
Campaign creation can be a tedious process and more than 66% of advertisers choose to use ChatGPT to create content for their ad (according to a survey by Northwest Venture Partners). With the integration of AI into AdManager we aim to streamline campaign creation and help them achieve better campaign results. With AI-generated copy suggestions for ad headlines and descriptions using OpenAI GPT, the goal is to help advertisers focus on key tasks, increase productivity and create more impactful and successful ad campaigns.
Low fidelity wireframes
We created low-fidelity wireframes to collaborate with developers and gain insights into the technical aspects. Striving for a quick launch, we discussed various ideas with developers and stakeholders, aiming to find a balance between speed and significance. We assessed the quality of the AI-generated text suggestions with the Data Science team and actively worked on refining them.
Prototype test
I conducted a prototype test with users to identify crucial opportunities before implementing the feature on a broader scale, aiming to gain valuable user insights.
Insights - Users readily noticed the new feature and were pleasantly surprised.
Appreciation was expressed for the AI-generated responses and content.
Users were willing to incorporate the AI-generated content into their ad creatives.
Dissatisfaction was noted with the response time, and users desired quicker results.
A segment of users felt obligated to use the provided content without the flexibility to make alterations.
Despite challenges, a majority of users showed excitement and enthusiasm about the new feature.
Final product
Taking into account the feedback on response time, we successfully made significant improvements, resulting in a notable reduction. Advertisers can input their initial ad headline and description, receiving three suggestions initially. In case they are dissatisfied with the response, they have the option to regenerate for three new suggestions. They can navigate back to previous suggestions, edit or continue regenerating until they find a copy that meets their satisfaction.
Follow up survey regarding the feature
We conducted a follow up survey few months after the launch of feature to to collect insights on usage, satisfaction, and additional feedback for potential improvements. The majority of our users actively engaged with and expressed satisfaction with the feature.
Next steps
Our next steps include refining the quality of AI-generated responses and addressing the specific challenges faced by users who are reliant on external teams for content setup, ensuring a more inclusive and user-friendly experience.
